We are gathered together to judge the fate of Thomas Kim. Let all Samurai and departed ancestors be witness to the awful justice of the Shogunate. Prosecutor, present your case.

Prosecution:
Facts of the Case: In the early hours of Sunday, May 23rd, Thomas Kim, hunting in New Quincy, mistook an innocent civilian, Allen Yancy, for the cruel assassin Alex Athanassiou. Kim fired twice on Yancy, hitting him square in each testicle. The Bushido code, section 13, statute 10 expressly forbids the assassination of civilians. For this crime, the penalty is immediate death.

Defense:
Early on Sunday, Thomas Kim did indeed fire upon Allen Yancy, but the facts of the case mitigate what would in ordinary circumstances be a most heinous crime….

Head Judge:
SILENCE, The Shogunate has heard enough, and will present its judgment. Esteemed Shoguns, what is your verdict?

Each in Turn:
Guilty.

Head Judge:
And what penalty do you impose?

Each in Turn:
Death.

Head Judge:
Then, Thomas Kim, you will die today by the hand of the Shogunate. You may plead for mercy.

TK: I am innocent!
HJ: IRRELEVANT.
TK: I have a wife and kids!
HJ: IRRELEVANT.
TK: My death will be avenged!
HJ: IRRELEVANT.

TK: (Denunciation of Shogunate) gross and cruel injustice to cut me off in the prime of my life!
HJ: SILENCE! THE SHOGUNATE HAS HEARD ENOUGH.

HJ: The Shogunate grants you a final meal of your choice. What do you wish for?
TK: Steak and Cheese from Nokes.

HJ: Your time is up. (Thugs remove steak and cheese. Maybe nibble a bit)
Prepare yourself for death. You may speak your final words.

HJ: Do you have any last requests?

HJ: Cigarette? (Thugs give cigarette)
HJ: Would you like a blindfold?
TK: I refuse the blindfold - I prefer to face my death.
(Also spits out cigarette.)
HJ: Then let it be done!

Yancy: Wait, I beg of the Shogunate to say a word.
HJ: Identify yourself
Yancy: Yancy!
HJ: You may speak.
Yancy: You must not execute Thomas Kim…. [SEE TRIAL VIDEO FOR DRAMATIC SPEECH!!!].

HJ: Though you did not live as an Assassin, you shall die as an Assassin. Take the place of the Samurai you dishonored with your treachery. (Thugs seize him, and bring him to the post).

Execution occurs.
HJ calls for duels.
